>1962 Gibson Les Paul Sg Standard Factory Refin Pelham Blue W/ Hsc
Hello this is a 1962 Les Paul Standard. I purchased this guitar from the 2nd owner. He took it to Prosound Music here in Denver and had them ship it back to the factory for a Pelham blue refin. The factory refin and the replacement of the PAFs with a set of Seymour Duncan Antiquities are the only changes to this guitar. The bridge pickup is 7.56 ohms and the bridge is 8.5 ohms. As you can see it retains the originalhardware including the sideways vibrola, double ring Kluson Deluxe tuners and Tune-o-matic ABR-1 bridge, and Les Paul logo on the truss rod cover. There are NO breaks or cracks in this guitar as you can see by the pictures. The frets are original and the binding and fretboard are in VG condition with no dents and a little pitting in the fretboard.
The pots date to the 2nd week of 1962 (137-6202) and this is the manner in which the guitar was dated. I contacted Gibson and they advised that there was no standard policy related to serializing factory refins. This particular guitar has no serial number and it was dated with thepots. Gruhn confirmed that this guitar conforms to the specs of a 1962 Les Paul Standard.
This guitar plays effortlessly and absolutely screams with the antiquities. I have had 4 1961 - 1962 LP Standards and this one plays as well and sounds as good as my current 1961. I did an A / B of this one with my original 1961 and I can tell you it was a hard choice as to which one plays better - they are really equal in that regard.
I have a guy in my band with a reissue 1961 and there is just no comparison. This is the real deal and can be taken out any night of the week. It comes with an 80's (I think ) Gibson SG fitted hard shell case.
